State Street is a design/build project to restore, renovate and expand a 1890s Folk Victorian home in Houston’s Old Sixth Ward. Our intent is to preserve the exterior of the historic house and its defining internal features, while expanding and modernizing it for a young family. A new block-and-beam foundation has been installed that further elevates the house to protect from extreme floods. All lead paint has been cautiously removed, original windows carefully restored, and a new corrugated metal roof installed.

Inside, the floorplan is reorganized around a featured central hallway. A new stair leads to the attic loft and a 500 sqft. addition expands the rear of the house.
